Running + Caribbean + Crusing = FUN

As a runner, events like this have a special appeal for me!  Royal Caribbean is combining special events for runners and the amazing experience of a Caribbean cruise on one of two of the largest and most well-apportioned ships on the sea, the Oasis of the Seas and the Allure of the Seas.  Read on after the break!

Two more sailings and races are scheduled, one for December 1st, 2012 on the Oasis and March 10, 2013  on the Allure.

In addition to the 5K race, the entire week will be full of activities such as private meet-and-greet sessions with high-profile racing athletes, seminars and lectures with high-profile athletes, personal training tips from experts, and speed tests onboard the track on your ship!

The Oasis will be running an Eastern Caribbean itinerary, with the 5K in St. Maarten:
  • Nassau, Bahamas
  • Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
  • Philipsburg, St. Maarten
  • Fort Lauderdale, Florida
The Allure will be sailing the Western Caribbean, with the 5K in Jamaica:
  • Labadee, Haiti
  • Falmouth, Jamaica
  • Cozumel, Mexico
  • Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Both cruises are departing and returning to Ft. Lauderdale.  The minimum runner's age is 10, and the entrance fee for the race is $25.  As someone who LOVES to run and LOVES to run on vacation to try and combat the buffet, I think this is a wonderful event by RCCL.  I hope I get a chance to check it out next year!  If you want to experience the race and these incredible ships for yourself, give us a call!  Stay tuned for more...
